The Waldorf Hilton hotel has been Theatreland’s favourite leading lady for over a century. This iconic Edwardian luxury hotel offers the same blend of chic modernity and theatrical opulence that she has done for the last hundred glorious years. Situated just five minutes’ walk from Covent Garden, with Drury Lane around the corner, the Waldorf Hilton London hotel is at the heart of West End’s fabled Theatreland; indeed two iconic London theatres were built with the Waldorf, and still bookend the hotel today.
The Aldwych Theatre lies at the western end of The Waldorf, and became synonymous with comedies and farces. The variety of shows on offer here has tended towards musicals recently. On the Eastern side of the Waldorf is the Novello Theatre. Initially known as the Waldorf Theatre, it is now known after the legendary singer Ivor Novello who used to live above it.
